Knit the charming little dress in this picture! This delightful traditional design based on the popular magyar fashion of that era has been adapted from an original Rosebud doll knitting pattern first published by Womans Weekly in the UK in the early 1950s. I have simplified the pattern, reduced the number of seams, and rewritten the lace pattern to give an easier result. Using a pair of 2mm (UK size 14) needles and scraps of laceweight or 3ply yarn, you could quickly knit pretty little dresses for mothers and daughters of the Sylvanian and Calico Critter worlds. The construction is based on miniatures of human-sized patterns and with some help could be completed by a relative beginner knitter. For yarn, try one of the new 3-ply sock yarns, or 2 strands of stranded embroidery threads, a soft crochet yarn, tatting yarn, or embroidery yarn.
Buy this pattern for download in pdf format. Price £1.50. I regret that, due to current VAT regulations in the EU, my EU customers are asked to purchase the posted paper leaflet version - my apologies; the VAT regulations are just too complex for me to administer. Alternately, purchase the PDF download option then email me (see top of page) and ask for an emailed PDF which is VAT-free.
Paypal will give you the link to download your PDF file on payment and I recommend you take a note of the link details for future access, or print the pattern, or choose to buy in booklet or kit format to be posted to your address which Paypal will supply to Woollywoodlanders. If you require this to be send to a different address, perhaps as a present, please give details in the 'Notes' section which Paypal provides.
